HORT212 LAPD Activity on Trust , Teamwork and Planning for common Goals

Introduction:

Our Area 9 LAPD convener Tr. Ankiit Gupta brought 3 spectacular LAPD activity sessions for team HORT 212.  The sessions organized focused on importance of Communication, Team work, Working together with difference of capabilities and mindset. The activities were very interactive, Energetic, Competitive, Simple to understand and very effective in using team building at any level of organisation and interests.

Session One

Closed Eye Paper Fold session

Team 212 were asked to close their eyes and follow  the instructions given by convener Tr. Ankiit. He gave simple 5 instructions, however to the groups surprise none of the results matched.

This activity clearly thought us

· Importance of Communication

·Why & how are the same instructions perceived differently

· What happens if we don’t question and continue to perform with just what we understand.

Tr. Ankiit also highlighted a fact that even though all members have known each other from many years, still our thoughts on understanding things differ. Therefore, it’s prudent to walk together accepting each other’s difference.

All the members summarized their opinions and understood the concept and were brought to a conclusion that thoughts can be many and it’s always good to have ideas and opinions which raise questions and by which one call come to a common objective and stay connected to that one point we call “GOAL”

Session two:

Trust our team at all times  Tr. Ankit asked all the members to sit diagonally with their backs resting on participant behind them and holding legs firmly on the ground. The surprise was  when Tr. Ankiit announced he is going to pull all the chairs out and all participants will have to TRUST their fellow tablers / Sq. Leg and continue resting on their knees.

This activity re-emphasized on

· Knowing your  team’s strength

· Covering the weak ones

· Motivating each other all time

· Never give up · And most importantly TRUSTING each other and letting one down when he TRUSTS you

This type of trust building requires in group to come to common objective for achieving the desired goal

Session Three : Virtual Volleyball

The team of 16 were instructed to divide themselves in group of two lead by captain Tr.

Ankit Singhania on one side and Sq. Kishan Lohiya on  another with 8 equal members.

Tr. Ankiit first explained the rules of the game with couple of mock play. The game then started with so much of unexpected Fun, Interacation and energy.

Participants learnt how important is to

· Work together as a team

· Be Focused

· Support each other in the team

Chairman Tr. Vivek along with all members present greatly appreciated Area LAPD Convenor Tr. Ankiit Gupta’s efforts of coming all the way & his experience of keeping the energy levels high for over 45 mins.

Members of 212 family went back home with some real good learning which we are sure will be implemented by each one of us in Tabling days ahead.

Thus this team activities brought all of them engaged, kept them alert at all times, brought best from one another in hardships and were focused in winning and achieving the common goal.

All the members were delighted, engaged, to the session and were brought to conclusion that team building requires Trust and by this any organisation or group can achieve the common goal.
